Family Ties…and a Giveaway!

Posted on October 5, 2017 by KarenOctober 5, 2017 3

I just returned from an amazing 10 days in Ireland, visiting my daughter who lives in Galway, and doing research for a future book series.  Although I’ve been to Ireland several times before, this trip was especially memorable because it was spent with the wonderful Delany family, who have become very special to our family.  The Irish are exceptionally warm and generous, and the Delany’s epitomized this in every way.  Our trip was all the more meaningful because they spent time with us and showed us Ireland from a completely different perspective.  We saw and did things we might never have done if they hadn’t been with us!

I had just finished the second book in the Glacier Creek series, and was in need of a vacation, and this trip was the perfect combination of relaxation and excitement.  I returned home three days ago, and started writing the third book in the Glacier Creek series, and am so excited to share these books with you!  I love hearing from my readers; your comments provide me with the motivation to keep writing, and I am so grateful for your support and encouragement!  To show you my appreciation, I am giving away two $10 Amazon gift cards to two randomly selected winners.  All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me your idea of a perfect vacation, whatever that might be!  Winners will be announced on Oct 10th!

Return to Glacier Creek

Posted on August 25, 2017 by KarenAugust 25, 2017

It’s been a whirlwind summer with a writer’s conference, book signings, and weekend trips to beautiful Burlington, Vermont to visit my younger daughter, who attends UVM.  My parents moved into their dream house, and we a had a long, much-awaited visit from my older daughter, who lives in Ireland.

On top of all that excitement, I  have a new release coming out very soon, and I also signed a 3-book contract with Tule Publishing for a new series–all four books are set in Glacier Creek, Montana, home of the Firefighters of Montana series!

The first book, A Hummingbird Christmas, is available now for pre-order, and will be available in both digital and print version on Oct 17th.  The next three books in the Glacier Creek series will be released in early 2018.

A Hummingbird Christmas, Tule Publishing

Cole Tanner doesn’t do Christmas.

Abandoned as a child on Christmas Eve, he has no use for the holiday season. When his best friend’s widow arrives in Glacier Creek, Montana, determined to give her small daughter the fairy-tale Christmas she’s dreaming of, Cole is prepared to dislike her. He isn’t prepared for Joy and her daughter to insinuate their way into his life–and his heart. But when tragedy strikes, he needs a Christmas miracle to fulfill the one wish he never knew he wanted.

Joy Holliday believes in miracles.

She sees hummingbirds everywhere, and believes they are tiny messengers from Heaven. Despite losing her husband four years ago, she is determined not to dwell on the past, but to look to the future. Her entire world revolves around taking care of her small daughter, Piper, and ensuring she has a magical Christmas. In Glacier Creek, she finds Cole, a man still nursing the wounds of his past, determined to keep happiness at arms’ length. Can she save Christmas and show him the promise of a future with her?

Summer Happenings

A Hummingbird Christmas

Hey there!  I hope everyone is having a great summer and enjoying the warmer weather.  I was in Orlando in July to meet with my Tule editors, and to celebrate the completion of my second Tule book, tentatively entitled A Hummingbird Christmas.  The book is set in Glacier Creek, Montana, home of the Firefighters of Montana heroes, and introduces veteran smoke jumper Cole Tanner.  I love this book so much, and I can’t wait to share it with my readers!  For a sneak peek at the inspiration behind the setting and the characters, head over to my Pinterest page.  The image on the right isn’t the official cover, but I wanted something to hand out to readers, so created this fun little business card.  Stay tuned for the official cover reveal from the fabulous Tule art department in the next month or so!

Orlando was a ton of fun, especially since I travelled with my bestie, Cathryn Parry, who writes emotional romances for Harlequin Super Romance, and Harlequin Heartwarming.  We grew up together in the same small New England town (we were even born in the same hospital, during the same week), so traveling with her is always fun.

We are doing a multi-author book signing on Saturday, August 26th at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Leominster, Massachusetts, from noon until 4 pm.  If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by!

This trip, however, took the steam out of us!  Orlando in July is…well, it’s pretty miserable!  The combined heat and humidity made being outdoors oppressive, but we made the most of it by visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.   Here we are, in Diagon Alley!  The trip ended far too soon, but it was wonderful to see my editors, to talk books and plots, and future projects.

Be sure to come back for updates on when the Christmas book will be released, as well as more exciting news about upcoming books!
